Itching Havanese and Corgi

Question
We've started using a new kennel over the past month and each time our Havanese comes home itching more than usual. She scratches her sides and bites her legs. Our Welsh Cardigan Corgi also comes home with itchy ears. Obviously we don't plan to use this kennel again. What can we do to help our dogs be more comfortable again. We've never had a probelm until we went to this place where they keep blankets and towels in their kennel area. Is there an over the counter shampoo/conditioner or meds we can use? I'll go to our vet but only if we can't help them. Thanks for your time.

Answer
If they come back itchy from the kennel, then there must be something there that is irritating.  Call the kennel and ask if they spray regularly for fleas and mites.  Also find out if they launder their blankets regularly.  It could be that there is something in the environment that gets on them.  In that case, ask the kennel to bathe the dogs before you pick them up. Any dog shampoo will work to remove irritants.
