Question
Hi, I'm real new at this. I've got a 14 Bio-cube inhabeted by an engineer goby, clown fish, pseudocromis, cleaner shrimp,2 hermit crabs,1 moon snail and 2 turbo snails.Recently a small (Less than a pea)red jelly looking ball with a few white dots on it appeared on the sand.A few days later it was gone, but now came back again. I see it in different spots, but always in the same area. Any idea what it is ?
Thanks, Ron

Answer
Hi Ron. You have me stumped with this one. The only thing I can think of is a kind of nudibranch hitch hiker. There are too many kinds to correctly identify however this may be what you have. Does it appear to be moving around?  If it is not some kind or nudibranch then it may be some kind of worm. There are also sea cucumbers that have this kind of a look to them however you would most likely see some tentacles coming off of it. Here is a website that has a lot of pictures of live rock hitchhikers on it. Maybe you can at least get an idea of what it could possibly be. http://home2.pacific.net.ph/~sweetyummy42/hitchhikers.html
I hope this helps. Sometimes it takes several descriptions and a little research for me to find the answer for you.
