Question
Hi,
I've had my blenny for about a year now and I've noticed every time i put peppermint shrimps or small fish such as a blue damsel in my 75 gallon tank he eats them is this common? I was told he might chase the tang i have but they are best buds and show no signs of aggression towards one another. I have a yellow tail damsel, a bangai cardinal, a pajama cardinal and a maroon and gold clown with 5 soft corals and 75 lbs or live rock with 100 lbs of live sand. He has eaten every shrimp i have ever had in the tank.i
thanks,
Vickie

Answer
Hello Vickie,

Blennys are tough to predict.

I have one now, but will never have another... (The one i have now is a 'barnacle blenny'

But, yea, they are aggressive, territorial, and just plain fun to watch...

The last one i had before this was a lineatus blenny, and he ate my coral... I would watch him and he would take a big old bite and leave a scar/swatch of bare skelton where flesh used to be...

Good luck and please let me kno whwat you end up doing with your buddy
