Question
I have a Bio Cube 14 I have three small gray green pearl like cysts or bubbles attached to my live rock. What could they be? Do you need a pic.?

Answer
Hi Capt. Dave. What you have growing in your tank is green bubble algae. The easiest way to control this form of algae is simply by manual removal. Try to gently pick the bubbles off of the rock that it is growing on. If you pop it you run the risk of releasing thousands of tiny daughter cells that will each form a new bubble algae. Don't be too concerned though if it does pop. This algae is very easy to control and usually does not populate a tank enough to cause a problem. If any new ones form just simply pick them off. Emerald crabs find this algae very palatable and do a very good job in controlling it.
