Converting Saltwater to Freshwater Tank

Question
Hi there!  We are transitioning from a 45 gallon freshwater to a 85 gallon freshwater tank.  We bought the tank from someone who used it as a saltwater tank.  It has a wet/dry system, but she did not have any manuals on how to assemble them or the brands or styles or anything, what I do know is that the filter seems to be a Magnum 350 (Canister, etc) the tank that goes under the tank that contains the little balls (wet/dry system, I assume) that says sea reef.  Can we use this equipment to build the freshwater tank and if not what do we need, just a regular filter?

Answer
Hello Shalom,

I dont have any experience with fresh water systems... The only thing i remember reading/hearing from somewhere is that they typically use an 'underground' filter...

But, that is all that i know... I think you can use the same cannister, but not sure...

Sorry i can not help you,

Best of luck

Bill
