Questionhey there i think that i have red slime algae and i cant get rid of the stuff. i am fairly new to the saltwater game only having my 75 gallon tank for a year. um i have a wide variety of fish all compatible and i have one carpet anemone. all my levels are within normal range. i have changed my filters my skimmer is running perfectly. i have vacuumed the gravel and yet it keeps coming back it is on the sides of the tank as well as the gravel. i have this "no more algae" stuff from jungle fish care. but it says not to use it with invertabte and so i haven't do you have any advice..... thank you for your time

There are 2 causes of cyano, new tanks and tapwater. When your tank is about 6-7 months old, it naturally gets some cyano, and it should go away. If youre using tapwater, thats probably the case. tapwater contains phosphates and other junk that feeds the cyano, and makes it impossible to remove. you should always use RO water in filling and topping off saltwater tanks, RO water (reverse osmosis) is pure and will not feed the cyano
If you are using RO water, and you already had your cyano stage, you might be feeding too much, try feeding a bit less. also, dont use the algae removal med, they are never needed, and do not take care of the root cause of the algae
