Question
i have a 26 gallon aquarium and i have a few pieces of artificial rock/coral pieces and i wanted to add live rock and coral if possible. I have an 18in full spectrum bulb and my tank is 18 in deep. My question is what type of rock should i get and if my lighting would work for the live rock and easy beginner corals like button polyps.

Answer
As far as rock goes, any type of live rock or dry marine rock should work fine. With established aquariums, I usually recommend dry rock simply because it poses less risk of starting a nutrient cycle.

For lighting, you should have plenty for live rock, but from the sounds of it you will probably need to upgrade. Look at T5 fixtures with at least two bulbs to begin growing some lower light soft corals.
