Question
More info. My tank is about a mo. old and the fish I have had a few
weeks....amonia..o, nitrate..50, ph..82...every day I change some
of the water between 25%/50%.. as I stated in my last note the
nitrite is staying 2.0...Am I changing the water to often?
Thanks again for your time...Coleen......

Answer
Dear Coleen,
That's good that you have no ammonia at least! ;-)
Sounds like your aquarium is just trying to finish cycling. Just give it time and be patient, and continue with those ever-so-helpful water changes as you have been doing wonderfully already. It could simply be that your aquarium is taking a bit longer time to cycle and establish. All aquariums are different and you should see your nitrite levels drop with time. Such a high level of nitrates also means the end is near to completely cycling your aquarium.

I hope this helps!!!!

Best wishes and Happy fishkeeping as always!
Good luck,
Karen~
