My goldfish is being bullied!!!

Please help, in work we have two goldfish is a bowl shaped fish tank.  Everything was fine until one of the goldfish started bullying and eating the other one.  His tail is all coming away and has white bits on it!!  He seems really depressed as well and keeps sinking to the bottom of the tank for ages and then floating to the top and only really moving when I feed them!!  I would be very grateful for any advice!!!  Thanks Hayley x

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not sure why goldfish behave this way. Males sometimes do this if they are in "spawning" mode. And then it could be one stronger male dominating the other weaker guy.

Either way, it sounds like its too much for the victim to handle so they best thing would be to take out the bullier or maybe a better option is to buy a tank divider. However, being that the tank is bowl-shaped this might be a little difficult but worth a try. You can buy dividers at most petstores or sometimes even Walmart.

Otherwise, the meanie fish may be best removed and taken to the petstore. :(
