Scavangers & breeding angels?

Question
I have a fully planted tank w/CO2 and auto water changer with RO. I have breeding angels and algae eaters and pleco's eat the eggs. Will cory cats eat them too? Any scavengers that won't eat eggs?

Answer
Well, it is my experience that the little rascals just can't be trusted!!!  Corys have been known to eat eggs.  I do not know of a scavenger who can be trusted fully.
I have a Siamese algae eater who hasn't bothered eggs before, but it can differ from fish to fish.
The good news is I have been able to keep plecos, corys, etc. with angels and there eggs.  When the angels lay there eggs I usually leave on my lights until the fry are free swimming.  It is then best to remove them.  If the lights are off the parents stop guarding, but when the lights are left on they won't allow the other fish near.  I have a 100 gallon tank that makes it possible to light one side with the other remaining dark.  This allows the other fish to still have the nescessary dark.  If this isnt possible you can always angle your light to shade one side and light the side with your eggs.
If this doesn't work, it might be best to set up another tank and remove the eggs immediately after fertilization.  Just keep in mind it usually takes the male about 24 hours to fertilize all the eggs.
