Question
QUESTION: Hi,
I have just bought a Biorb 60L freshwater with light. I am very new to all this. I was looking for something different than Goldfish any ideas on what other types I could keep and how many? Also do you know what plants I should invest in?
Thanks
Andy
ANSWER: Hi Andy

Kindly take my advise :

Keep low number of fishes until you gain more experience

You can start with the hard ones until you have a solid information regarding keeping your tank stable .

for the time being start with live breeders , like guppy , molly , swordfish , catfish , they all can live with gold fish , but occasionally they will start bit it , but no harm .

focus on keeping your tank cycled , clean , healthy .

study about diseases , treatments , fish types , in order to gain more information about your favorite types prior buying them

and the last stage is to get plants , cause keeping plants is much easier , but it will prevent you from observing your first fish settings ,

QUESTION: I know this will sound like a stupid question but are all the above fishes suitable from freshwater 60l tanks - as someone has told me that I should get a heater for my tank and not to use it for freshwater fish?

Answer
Hi

no , we are usually use heaters to keep the temp in rang , that is between 25 to 28 based on common types of fishes , regarding goldfish it like cold water around 22 and 23 ,

so what is your temp now , and you will compensate that if lower with heater , we all dose .
