Question
i have a jack dempsey who is about 4-5 months, not fully grown, and in a 20 gallon tank. im planning on getting an apartment soon to put him in a much larger tank. But recently he has been very inactive and when ever i walk into the room he will spaz out. What i mean is that he swim super fast, splash water and then hide as fast as he can. before he was acting like this he was always up against the glass looking out and had plenty of color. what might be the problem?

Answer
Hey

There is no real answer to this problem. Its could be that it has a poor diet, toxic poisoning, harassment, imbalance in the water, and many more reasons why a fish can act and even look strange.Try and look for possible sign of a disease or injury and make sure there is no one knocking on the glass or anything scaring the fish. Its could be that your fish is just suffering from shock. But just keep an eye on it and look for signs.
