Question
I recently got my first pet , a fantail fish . My sister thinks that shes pregnant. How do know for sure that it is pregnant? Is there any particuler signs/symtons to let me know? Plese get back to me as soon as you can. thankyou

Hi Beth;

Fantailed goldfish are naturally plump (even the males) and they are very difficult to sex unless they are in breeding condition and it's during breeding season in the spring. They really don't "get pregnant", they become full of eggs. So, you won't see any babies anyway unless there is a male in the tank to fertilize the eggs as they are laid.
