a fat cichlid?

so i have a cichlid. well my dads cichlid.  african i think. lake malawi cichlid to be more specific, again, i think.  It's super fat!! i don't mean like it looks like it needs to drop a pound, i mean about to pop.  troublesome looking!  what could be wrong?  looks bloated kinda, but really big, really round.  it's not just one spot that is round, like a tumor, but the whole fish.  Could he just be one big tumor?  please ask more questions if that isn't enough to make a good guess

It could possibly be Malawi bloat. I have never treated this myself but I did find a website for you that explains the symptoms, causes and treatment for malawi bloat. The website is http://www.allcichlids.com/diseases/malawi_bloat.html
