QuestionI have a snail, I was told at the pet store it was the kind that did not reproduce lots and lots.... It has a yellow shell, is about two inches big. We have had it for about 3 months, it has had 3 live babies. (With shells!) How does this happen? How can a snail give birth to a snail WITH A SHELL?

Snails like your gold apple snail are egglayers so you would have seen an egg mass above the surface. It is very identifiable so I suspect that some other type of baby snails have found their way into the tank. Here is a great website about your gold one to learn more;
