setting up new tank, cloudy water, cycling? When to add fish?

Question
Hello,

I am starting a new 25 gallon freshwater tank and it is has been setup for about 1 week. No fish yet. The water is a little hazy, not too bad, but not getting any better or worse. I would like it to be clearer. I used to keep fish tanks for years and don't remember ever hearing about "cycling". The water has been treated with salt and the PH is about 6.8. I did use some Proper PH 6.5 When should I add fish? Should I be testing for ammonia and other things first? I don't remember ever testing for anything other than PH and always had good luck with my fish. Thanks.

Answer
P.S. If you set up your aquarium with pure water and add the recommended amount of Cycle, you can add fish within 24 hours. Do not overfeed. This system only works if there is NO EXCESS FOOD in the environment. So put them on a strict diet - 1 flake or pellet per fish per day to start with baby fish. Gradually increase according to size.
