Fish Identity

Question
I may be getting a fish tank later on through the year. My dad used to own three fish tanks and in one of them he had three Oscars and this type of sucker fish. I wanted to have the same sort of setup for my tank as what he had but i don't remember what the name was of the sucker fish was. I remember what it looked like though, it was black, it had spines on it fins, it had whiskers, it was very energetic and done lots of loop-de-loops and constantly swam upside down, and I'm not entirely sure but i think the name was something like you-ca-rus, but I'm not sure if thats the right name. Can you please help me identify it? That would be great, Thankyou.

Answer
Hi Jessica;

It could be a Synodontis also called "upside down catfish". There are many, many fish in this family. Here is a link to a list of them, just go to the page, hold your cursor over each name and a little picture will appear;

If he isn't there, take a look at the below link. There is a list of thumbnail photos there of different catfish on the left. Click to enlarge them to a profile page;

Let me know if you don't find anything that resembles your catfish...
