weird behaviour

hi,
i recently cleaned my tank and filled it up again. the water comes from an underground tank. when i put my fishes back in again i noticed that my kenyi cichlids were behaving very weird. thay appeared to be gasping for breath and were twiching while swimming. they also were staying put at the bottom. what caused this behaviour? could it be the water temperature? they were fine in teh morning and are now swimmign happily..

Hi Kunal, never take all of your water out of your tank this messes up your whole cycle. It sounds like you had high nitrite levels which lowered the oxygen levels in your tank. I would add some aquarium salt and do your regular water changes just don't take all the water out. Good Luck!
