Question
I have a 60 gal tank with 10 neon tetra, 2 peppered Cory, 3 black Mollies, 3 orange platys, 3 small clown loach(2 inch and growing fast) and an adopted placostymus about five inches.  I am currently feeding the following mix: flake, sinking (med size) and micro size suspending/floating pellets and some algae wafers.  Feeding 2 times a day in quantities that are gone in 5 minutes or so other than the wafers which take my guys some time to finish off.  I tried offering freeze dried blood worms but surprisingly, no takers.
Can you please tell me if my current mix is good for my fish friends?  Any suggestions on additions or subtractions? Everybody seems happy at the moment.  Just want to do the best for my fish friends.

Answer
The food you are feeding is fine and gives a good variety. However, I would cut down on the algae wafers, they tend to leave behind a big mess and I have found that not many fish like them, just give a few less than you do. Also, I would eliminate the pellets, these can cause very cloudy water and often are not completely eaten. Just make sure you are feeding a high quality flake food which has alittle bit of everything in it. These flake foods say they are good for all tropical fish. As long as you have that a just a little algae wafers, that is all you really need. However, if you wanted to give a variety, give them some added food once or twice a week, not every day. Some suggestions would be frozen brine shrimp, a leaf of fresh romaine lettuce, or give some pellets once or twice a week. No matter what you feed them, be sure to not overfeed. This is the main enemy to the freshwater tank. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any more questions.
