Question
Hi Michael
I only received my goldfish yesterday and I'm already a little worried but I'm unsure what to do. I have a 3-4 litre fish bowl with one goldfish. I added normal water then we used a water ager - that we didn't know till later was over 4 years old!
The water is now cloudy and my fish isn't very lively and is often on the bottom of the bowl. I'm really worried and not sure whether I should wait for a while to re-do the water so as not to shock my fish again, or redo the water with the new ager we bought ASAP to save my fish!
Please help.

Answer
Erin,
emergency situations call for emergency actions, if you do not do anything you will run the risk of losing the fish.
SO,let the water run out of your tap,if you are on a well you have nothing to worry about.
If you have "city" water the free chlorine dissapates almost instantly if you agitate the water.
Get it to room temp and put him in.
Forget about the water ager.
If you want to use something use Stress Coat, a couple of drops will do the job.
Your fish will be fine..
Let me know how things turn out.
