signs of injfection

hi. i just asked a question about my axolotls damaged tail earlier today. you said it will grow back if it doesnt get infected. what are signs of infection i should look out for? thanks again for your help.

Hi Sam;

If it gets red, fuzzy or looks like it has cotton on it, that's infection. I don't know what you can use on it for medication if you need any though. Fish are different and in my area of expertise, bur amphibians really aren't. Amphibians are pretty sensitive so I don't want to recommend anything without knowing if it's safe.
