HEALTH of my fish

Question
I just had a quick question about pop eye. I woke up this morning around 5:00 am and went to turn the fish tank light on and my Fancy Goldfish whom I call brain has his right eye clouded over and it is really swollen. There is some discoloration around it as well. What would you recommend I do in this situation. Believe it or not I think he was pretty expensive so I don't want to loose him.

Hi Christy:  your little guy could have pop-eye or he may have just injured the eye. What I would do is to raise the tank temperature a bit... no more then five degrees and add aquarium salt per its instruction label.  You will also want to go to the local aquarium and purchase some antibiotics ... I would suggest Erythromycin.  Please keep me posted on his progress... dave
