QuestionI emailed you last weekend got a notification, but never heard from you.
I am moving one of my 2 oscars to a new tank. Its been set up for 9 days. I added cycle, water rocks and media from the old tank. Also put in a few pellets. Im using the seeding method.
My readings on the new tank are >
PH 7.2 Ammonia .25 nitrites 0 nitrates 10
The old tank readings are>
PH 6.2 - 6.4 ammonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 40
My faucet PH is 7.0.
I filled the NEW tank with the old tank water. My question is the PH is so off what should I do to lowerthe new tank naturally before I move my oscar. Or can I move him?
I added 2 bogwood or driftwood from the petstore that were in the old tank, to the new tank (I use chemicals only if needed) THe ph rises a bit after each water change. I dont get why the old tanks ph is low its the same water.
thanks
AnswerI actually did respond and if you look at my past answers you will see your question but here was my original answer
"Sometimes water will come from the tap at 8.0pH and, within a couple of hours, shift to 7.5pH.
I would just make sure to rip acclimate him to the new tank.
Here is an article of drip acclimation:
