Question
hi,                                                             does uv sterlizer kills the good bacteria found  in aquarium is it ok to use it in a discus fish tank

Answer
Hi Amit: The UV sterilizer will kill anything that is super small that passes through it.  The good news is that most of the beneficial bacteria live in the gravel or in the filter so they rarely encounter the UV sterilizer... only free floating bacteria will pass through the sterilizer.  so  you could use it on a discus tank.  hope this helps
