Question
Hello Karin, I bought a pair of blue acara's about a month ago thye just dont eat as good as they used to I have been feeding them sera 4 course meal and also got tetramin flakes also which they dont really eat, my 3 panagasius catfish and 2 parrots eat like crazy, do you know what the reason could be for my 2 acara's that dont eat like they are suppose to.

Thanks for your help.

Hannes Viviers.

Answer
Hi Hannes,
Perhaps they are shy because of the other fish intimidating them as feeding times.

You can try distracting the active fish on one side of the tank with food while you feed the acaras on the other side.

You could also try tempting them with meaty protein foods like bloodworms, earthworms, and even frozen foods like brine shrimp. Most fish cannot resist those foods. Also, prepared foods mixed with garlic extract is an appetite stimulator. Used many times when delicate Discus won't eat.

I hope this helps!
