large consolidated blister area on the head

Question
Hello.
I was gone for a few days only to return today and see that my Pachoo(sp)? has developed a large semi-clear, lumpy area, that has bunches of clear/whitish elevations almost like warts on the top of it's head.  He or she seems to be fine otherwise as are the other creatures in the tank. I have a 90 gallon tank with 2 lg. albino frogs, a garamie, a large sucker fish, and 2 little scaveger fish. Any ideas on what this area on it's head might be about and how I can treat it?  It occurred in 3 days.  If you are familiar with such a thing. any help you can give will be helpful.  Thank you, Shannon

Answer
Hi Shannon,
I'm not certain what it might be. It could be cysts or some kind of other odd skin growth that might be with the fish forever. Or it could be some kind of pathogen that has attacked the fish. The fact that he doesn't act sick makes me have the tendency to want to avoid recommending any kind of treatment. But just make sure the fish has clean water with nitrates as low as possible and good quality food with garlic extract in it and vitamins.

Best of luck and keep a close eye on it,
Karen~
