Green Spotted Puffer

Question
I've done some research myself on the net about Green Spotted Puffers but I cant seem to fine the answer. I know they start in fresh water and then brackish water and then salt water. But what kind of salt do I use. Aquarium salt or marine salt? Different sites say different things.

Answer
Hi Mario

Unfortunately, I've never had an interest in keeping Puffers. Based on the research that I've done from both the internet and some Encyclopedias that I have, I would use Freshwater Aquarium Salt. 2 tbsp per 5 gallons of water. Most say using Freshwater Aquarium Salt or Marine Salt is a personal preference, and I would have to agree based on what I know and what I've learned about them.

The following site is one I trust and one I frequently get information from about fish care.

Hope this helps, good luck!
