Snail eggs

Question
One of my snails just laid what looks to be about 100 eggs at the top side of the tank where there isn't water touching them.  Will the Molly's, frogs and bottom feeder eat them when they hatch?
Also it looks like my creamsickle Molly is pregnant what should I do with her?

Thanks so much!

Answer
Hi Kimberly,
Sounds like you have mystery snails! They are the snail species that lay a cluster of pinkish eggs above the water-line because otherwise, if they laid them underwater, the babies would drown.

The eggs may, or may not be fertile. Its very uncertain if they will indeed hatch because it depends upon how much humidity is present and the temperature.

Its likely the other creatures in the tank will eat the babies once they hatch and drop down into the water. You can move the eggs, but this can be difficult.

With your molly, there's really nothing needed to be done with her, unless you want to save some of the fry when they are born. Just provide her with plenty of plant cover in the main aquarium so she can go and deliver her brood in peace. Sadly, the other fish will eat the baby mollies unless they have good enough plant cover to take refuge in and survive.

I hope this helps and best of luck!
Karen~
