Question
I have tow batta fish one male and on female. When can i put them in one  tank together? If so,How do you take care of the babys?

Answer
Adrian,

Please, before you attempt to breed your Betta's keep this in mind. She can lay anywhere from 50 eggs to 500 sometimes even more. The tank that will house the fry needs to be at least a 10 gallon. You will need a heater, filter, sponge preferably, live food for the fry after the removal of the male. Then you need to make sure they are not over fed. Once they reach a few months old, you will then have to have containers to put the males in. There are constant water changes needing to be done, and then you have to have a home for them all to go to. Breeding Betta's are a lot of work, and you will see a difference in your pocketbook.

DO NOT put males and females in the same tank unless you want hundreds of little fry everywhere and possibly a dead fish or two. When the female and male are in the tank together they need constant supervision and the female will need to be removed if the male is too aggressive. Breeding Betta's can be a wonderful experience, but also one that will take up a lot of your time. So please, do your homework and make sure you are ready for that responsibility.

The fry need constant attention including feeding smalls meals 3 times a day. Making sure the tank temperature is right all the time. Doing water changes everyday. Make sure the water in the tank is no more than 4 inches or the fry will not be able to get to the surface to get air. You will have to have homes for all the fry that live. You will most likely lose about 2/3rds of the fry that hatch. at around 2 month of age, sometime sooner you will need jars, of some kind to separate all the males.

You will have to put the male in the 10 gallon breeding tank for a day or two to get him used to his new temporary home. You will know the female is ready when you see a notable rounder belly and the white dot, which is called an oviposter is present by her anal fin. Some females have that all the time, some dont have it at all.

Please think long and hard before you venture into Betta breading, or any other fish breeding, it takes up a lot of time, money, and nerves.

If you have any more questions, please, feel free to ask.

Good Luck on breeding
