Goldfish isnt laying her eggs

Goldfish isnt laying her eggs and Im worried about her. I read online to seperate her and she seems sad since I did. She is SO HUGE. But she was still playing and eating with other fish. SHould I just put her back into tank? She been big for almost 2 months.

Hi Rachel,
Normally a goldfish shouldnt get fat when she is full of eggs.  She is a egg-layer and not a live-bearing fish.  Usually only the live-bearing fish are the ones that get fat due to them having baby fish's inside.  Since you said she looks big, make sure she isnt bloated with scale protrusion and is eating.  Bloating are signs of Dropsy and could be fatal.  If you believe it is Dropsy, you must treat her with medicated fish food such as chloromycetin or tetracycline.  Remember to keep up with weekly 15%-20% water changes to keep water quality good.
