plastic aquarium plants

hi! our plastic plants are showing some discoloration in spots. is this something we should be concerned about or is it a natural bacteria thing? thanx, d.

It might be algae starting. You can remove the plants and clean then and then put them back in the tank. I do this when I am doing water changes. I just clean the plants in the tank water that I am removing or in the new water coming in. Also depending on the fish in the tank they could be playing with the plants or trying to eat any micro organism that is growing on it. This is really not a problem and once cleaned they should be just fine. If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask.
