Cichlid fighting

Hi, I have two convict cichlids (m and f) that up until now have gotten along fine.  They just hatched a set of eggs, and the fry were doing fine. However, I came home from work one day to find all the fry gone and the female beaten up pretty badly, and ever since the male has been chasing her around the tank and they have been fighting. The female hides in one of the castles, but the male still hunts her down and chases the poor thing. What should I do?

Hi Sarah,
 This sort of thing happens. The key is to take out the male for about a week or so -- put him in a bucket or another tank.
That will give the female time to recover.  When you reintroduce the male, keep a close eye on things.
