Question
Why does my betta go to a corner at the top of the tank and blow bubbles?

Answer
Hi Elizabeth;

It means he's a happy little fella! He is making a "bubble nest" to prepare for any females that might come along. It's okay that he doesn't have a mate though. She would not be welcome in there once spawning takes place. The male cares for the eggs and the babies in the nest and he does NOT want any help! He can actually kill her to get her out of there. It's just their nature. Here is a link to a page about breeding bettas in case you are interested, with cool photos too!;
