pleco for college dorm room

i'm moving into a dorm room in September and i am wondering if a pleco will survive in a goldfish bowl(or any other small tank with or without filter). If not then can any algae eater (fish that do not need regular feeding) survive in small tank? thanks for your time.

Well is that the maximum size tank you can have if you can have like a ten gallon then you could have a pleco. The small ones are about 17.00$ their maximum size is 4 inches thats why they are so expensive others get to be 18 inches and even bigger, but you would need to algae wafers and put one every 2 days and he should be fine he will need a tank that stays about 77 degrees.
