Hey Tina, I have had my beta fish for a little over a year and all of a sudden I noticed a rather large bump on the top of his head. He seems to still love food and is still pretty active.

Sarah,                                                       It sounds like he injured himself. I would add melafix to your water. It is a mild antibiotic and made from the oil of tea trees. Treat it and do a total water change. If this is a tank you change often try to leave the medicine in for 7 days. If after that you still have a problem , which I don't think you will, alejandra is an expert in bettas.And you can direct your question to her, but I think we will be ok...... Good Luck , Tina
