Question
Just recently, and by recent I mean over the past 2 weeks or so, my husband and I have noticed our algae eater swimming about aggressively than knocking his head(or nose, rather) along the top of the tank. This is definitely new and a little creepy. Our algae eater is about 7 in. or so and shares a 75 gal. tank w/ 2 other fish-large Oscars, which he has for more than 4 years. They've gotten along (usually), could this not be the case anymore b/c he's older? What could be wrong?

Answer
Joanne,                                                      The only time I have heard of this happening is if he outgrew the tank. In this case he hasn't. Are you sure your Oscars haven't been picking on him.Maybe giving him some privacy like a cave to hide in when he wants to will help him. You can address your question to Chris Robbins Expert. He may know better than I do. He is extremely knowledgeable and I trust him... Good Luck, Tina
