Questionhi, quick question. i have a male beta fish, in a one gallon tank set from petco, there is a tube that goes down the middle for the air stone to sit in, well when i wasnt home my beta got himself wedged in the tube against the rock airstone, and now he has a huge gash in his forehead area. im not sure what i can do for him. any suggestions? i feel so bad for him as im sure it hurts, i changed his water so the bactria level went down a little bit, but i dont know what else to do. is there something i can put in the water to help heal him?
AnswerHi Sabrina,
Fish are remarkably resilient. He might do just fine. Keep his water clean (regular 25% weekly water changes). Don't overfeed him to keep the bacteria level down. Consider getting an antifungal medicine to prevent fungus from growing in the wound.
