Question
hey i got a few fish an they are scratchin themselves against things! but they don't show no signs of ich or anything, ?? an only my cats do it an then the remainin feeder fish end up doin it, but my lil eels dont seem to do anything, but jus eat food all the time. im tryin out jungles parasite tabs but the first dose didnt do nuttin, on the second now. what do you think could be the problem?

Answer
Hi Josh,
Scratching is often the first sign of ich and may happen before you can see any external signs of the parasites.  Unfortunately feeder goldfish often have ich which then gets transmitted to the other fish in the tank. For this reason, I never use feeder fish in my tanks.

If I were you, I would keep a close eye on your fish looking for the tiny white dots that are a telltale sign of ick.  If you do see ick, keep up the treatment for about a week.
