hi good day!! I'm marc from philippines, i just want to know if live bearers give birth one at a time or it is a series of releasing of fry???because i notice a pregnant swordtail one morning her belly become small and after 2 days i notice again her belly is again swelling.. what is this??? is she pregnant again??? i have a hard time looking for fry because i am raising them in a pond.

Hello,
Live bearers can have as many as three pregnancies from the same male, without being penetrated again.  They are mostly always pregnant.  However they eat their young, and only the ones who can hide from their parents will survive.  Depending on the age of the female, she can give birth to as little as 6 or 60 at a time.
