Oscar breathing hard

Question
Hi Ron,

I inherited a beautiful oscar.  He has done for since Nov. when I acquired him.  Over the last two days or so, I have noticed he is flipping constantly.  When I look at him up close, he keeps his mouth open and stays around the filter.  From the front of his mouth, it is like he never closes it and it is white on the inside and I can see it open and close.  I don't want him to die on me, but what should i do.  this was all of a sudden. The water is clear and there are plenty of bubbles.

Answer
Hi Lafaye,
Are you doing regular partial water changes?   You need to be changing 25% of his water once a week, every week, to keep him happy and healthy.
