Question
I have had a 2 bettas for about 2 months now. On of them just passed away. When we found him dead in a corner he was all white.
My other betta, Haruma, lives with other fish in a 10 gallon tank, which is kept around 78-80 degrees.I noticed that Haruma looks like his tail was starting to get jagged.
Then this morning i saw that it looked like he had a crown made of feathers growing on his head and he had white patches all over his body. all of the patches are kinda fuzzy. He used to be active but now he sits on the leaves or sits on the ground. I have been on the internet all morning trying to figure out what it is. I read that it was a fungus and needed to be treated but i dont know where to go to ask about it. I live in a very small city called fairbanks in Alaska that barley has anything. It is the second biggest city in Alaska, though. I'm really worried and i dont want haruma to die also.

Answer
Hello Robin,
You must find him antibiotics such as Tetracycline.  Your Pet Store must have pills for Fungus.  If not a vet could help you.  Keep his water very clean, make sure there is no ammonia, no nitrites, and that nitrates are low.
You must act quickly as this disease progresses very quickly.  It eats away at fish.  It is also catching, so you will have to cure all of your tank.
I hope you find the medication, and that he pulls through.
