Question
Hi again, i just sent you an email. the female will not let the male alone, no matter where he tries to hide, she is hot on him, from one end of the tank to the other. i am afraid she is going to kill him. what can i do. right now i have him seperated from her. when i bought them they can from same tank at store. is this normal.thay are both a pretty good size.nothing else is in tank, just those 2.

Answer
Hi Brenda,
This is not normal behavior.  A fish that constantly chases another, is bad news.  Are you sure you don't have two males, and that they are both Kenyi Cichlids.  Lots of African Cichlids look alike, she might be a he, and some kind of different African Cichlid.  I would not put her/him back into the tank, they can, and will kill.

P.S.  They are very aggressive cichlids, and are not suited for a community tank.  They will dominate, and kill.  You would need a big tank with lots of hiding places, and if you want to add fish to your tank, make sure they are large Mbunas, and that the male Kenyi has 3 females.  Lots of hiding places will be needed, and your water should be alkaline - 8.0PH.
Never put a Kenyi in with peaceful cichlids.
