Can a blood parrot fish and venustus be tank mates. If not, what are the best tankmates for a venustus?

Hi Sueanne,
 A venustus comes from Lake Malawi in East Africa.  A blood parrot fish is a manmade cichlid that derives from Central and South American cichlids.  Personally, I would not mix these.  I would only put other cichlids from Lake Malawi in with a venustus. There are hundreds to choose from.  You might consider electric yellow cichlids.
