Budgie and Feather

Question
I was trying to move my budgie into a new cage and in the attempt to catch him, I accidentally pulled his tail feather. Now the poor budgie doesnt have a tail. Will the tail gorw back? Does he require an attention by a vetnerian? I am really worried for him. What should I do?

Answer
Hi Sam,

You sound like a lovely owner.
This is nothing too serious as long your budgie isn't bleeding. His tail will grow back within a month, he will not require any attention from the vet. If you let him out of the cage just keep an eye on him as without a tail his ability to steer while flying is greatly hindered.
