Very very watery diarrhea

Question
our male keet that we've had for almost 3 years now, suddenly got watery diarrhea.  It's like pure water comming out of him with a few runny/stringy droppings occasionally.  His bottom cage papers are totally soaked daily where he sits, like water has been spilled..  but hasn't been.  We seperated him from the female and their 6 month old baby right away and are keeping him warm and using a vaporizer, but he's not getting any better.  He eats and plays as usual like nothing is wrong.  But I noticed that his hanging water cup was almost empty, which is odd because it holds quite a bit of water.  I change the water daily and wash their cups good.  Please help me figure out what's wrong with our keet.

Answer
Hello rebecca! im sorry im getting to your question late, normaly i do not do this but i have been sick for the past couple days and havnt had time or the energy to get on the computer, finally better i will answer your question:
I dont know if your keet is still having diarrhea but if he is then heres how its caused and what you can do:
Watery droppings can be caused by an overly cool bath, after a traumatic expierence, or an emotional loss, or food that was too cold. Its good that your seperated him and have a warm vaporizer. Give the bird some activated charcoal. sprinkle it over the seed or even better dissolve it in water and feed it to the bird through a dropper. boiled unseasoned rice also conteracts diarrhea. Give the bird plenty of weakly brewed lukewarm black tea or weak camomile tea. Omit all fresh foods until droppings are normal again. You may want to add a few drops of vitamins into the drinking water. Keep the bird warm with an infrared bulb. Since your bird is drinking a lot and is loosing body fluids he wont have much strength to keep himself really warm. He should be, if not already, better soon. good luck!
