what causes crop infections?

Answer
There are quite a few causes, and since I don't know much about your situation, I can't tell you the main cause, but here's the most common causes of crop issues.

*Improper hand-feeding: Improper temperatures, overfeeding
*Stress
*Antibiotic therapy: once they go off of this, their immune system has to take up the slack from the antibiotic
*Formula inconsistencies
*Nutritional deficiencies (particularly vitamin A)
*Fungal and bacterial infections
*Ingestion of bedding or other foreign bodies

Most of these are easily resolved.  Keep an eye on your bird, and keep me posted!
