QuestionI had an accident with my budgie today. She was flying towards the door
when I was about to shut it. Her head got some what 'squished' between the
almost closing door. Luckily, I was able to prevent the door from shutting
completely on her. She fell to the floor, stunned, and I then noticed her eye
was bleeding.
Im am so devastated because she is my only love and best friend. Is there
anything I can do to help her eye recover? If even that? When a bird damages
their eye, can it possibly be reversed, and heal back to normal?
Thank You!

AnswerI would take her to a vet. First aid treatments, especially when they deal with sensitive areas like eyes, oftentimes do more harm than good. Let a professional take care of her. In the mean time, there are some things you can do to make her more comfortable:
Keep things warm and quiet. Cover her cage with a sheet, and make sure that she has a quiet little sanctuary to rest. Provide her with food and water, especially treats! She might not feel much like eating, but she may be tempted into eating treats; like most animals, comfort foods are a must! Make the area around the cage dark for at least ten hours, so she can sleep.
If its just the area around her eye, or a minor injury to the eye, there's a chance she will be able to see in that eye again, but there's not much else I can tell you, good or bad. Its up to chance and God now. Call your vet, and see what they can do.
Best of luck!
