incubating budgie eggs

Question
My female budgie laid two eggs a week ago and unfortunately got out the cage.  think the are fertilizd as was with a male.  The eggs have been in the box for maybe 6 hours with no mother.  Is it possible for me to incubate them and for hoe long?  Very upset children

Answer
Yes, I would incubate them.  If they're very recent eggs, they can go about two days without being incubated, but a week?  That's pushing it.    They take 18 days to hatch, so they're almost half-way.  It can get kind of complicated though, more than I can put in this response so here's a great website that explains things pretty well: http://www.exoticpetvet.net/avian/incubation2.html
