i opened the nest box and 3 eggs were a tanner or darker color than the other 2 so does that mean the darker ones are fertil?

Answer
The color of the egg doesn't tell you if it's fertile or not.  These color variations are usually due to subtle changes in the amounts of various minerals in the egg shells.  It doesn't necessarily mean that some eggs are weaker or stronger, less or more likely to hatch, and it shouldn't cause any problems with your birds, and it's nothing to worry about.
