Moody Mare

Question
I am riding this new mare and she is very moody. I have
never dealt with a very moody mare before and I'm not quite
sure what to do. Whenever I go near her she'll pin her ears
and make a real mean face, and she'll randomly pick up one
of her legs like she's about to kick (but she doesn't kick)
A horse sniffed her and she squealed and kicked out. When I
was riding her, I gave her a tiny squeeze and she bucked.
Could I fix this behavior? Or should I just ignore it? My
trainer says that she's just a marish horse and to just
ignore her, but I want to help fix the behavior if I can.
Any suggestions?

Answer
You can ignore it, but if you want to show her that you don't like that, make her work when she does things that appear anti social, make her back up, flex walk and turn, move her feet and stop her, timing is key. Read my web site and watch my videos on youtube.
